For the first time in 31 years, I won't be with my family on Christmas....which is sad. Yet, it's also exciting to know that a) Santa also comes to LA and b)it's for good reason that we're staying here and c) I'll be seeing my parents soon...once Twinkles arrives. I'm 36 weeks pregnant now....thus too far along for us to make the journey to Tennessee or Mississipi.
Although it's strange to be 70 degree sunny LA, I am NOW starting to get into the Christmas spirit...after being a complete crab apple on ALL of my futile shopping excursions. Thanks to the festive tree lights, Christmas candle and hot chocolate. And may I remember why we even have this holiday anyway. Thanks to Jesus.
Aaron surprised me with a Christmas tree. Doesn't it just fit perfectly in our little apartment? I was even able to come up with enough ornaments to cover it....thanks, in part, to Aaron's animal cookie boxes that he chose for decoration.
We will certainly miss being with our families this Christmas...although we are excited to spend the day with friends here.
Counting down the days until our little one arrives.

What a beautiful tree!! Now if A could only manufacture some fake snow outside the windows on either side. Norman Rockwell here we come!! I only eeked out a couple of tears reading your blog. You are both right where you are supposed to be with little Twinkle safely nestled in for yet a while longer waiting for the Grans to arrive. We will miss you bunches. Love - Mom

Elise,
this is aunt lin, did you know that
some of the first "ornaments" were
animal cracker boxes? I saw on tv
Christmas history that they were.
they were invented with the string
on purpose to hang on a christmas tree. your tree is lovely, hope you have a photo for your memory album. we love you and miss you this christmas, can't wait for Twinkles!
