CHILLIN' AT HOME

This t-shirt is one of Riley's. It says "I still live with my parents." Pretty funny, huh?

These days, Pax is having a good time playing in the box. He can sit up really well now and this keeps all of his toys within his reach.

TRIP DOWN SOUTH

Last weekend, we headed south...in California, that is. We spent the weekend with Julie, Glen and Riley and Julie's mom (Christa). We spent the night with Julie's mom, who lives near San Diego. On Saturday, we went to the Del Mar horse races and, on Sunday, we went to the San Diego Zoo. Here are a few shots from the weekend. More will be posted later. Pax had a great time playing in Christa's yard. She has many activities to keep the kids entertained.

And, yes, those giraffes are mating...well, almost.

MATCHY MATCHY

Pax and I paid a visit to the Maigret's new fabulous house today. Pax was matchy matchy with the new orange chairs.

MR. PITIFUL

Pax is really starting to get a baby opinion about what he wants or doesn't want. Here's a little glimpse at him pouting. It can be rather funny since it's usually just a quick outburst.

MORE FLAPPING

Here's another snapshot of what Pax spends much of his day doing....flapping his arms and legs. It cracks me up how he keeps his legs so straight.

NEW SKILLS

In this video, Pax showcases TWO of his newest skills - sitting up and giving five.

SIX MONTH MD VISIT

Pax had his 6 month visit on Friday. He weighed in at 19 lbs. 11 oz. and 28 inches long. When he was born, he weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long. Our little man is just a growin'!!

WE TURNED THE CORNER

Pax has finally decided that he does like food. All of it. Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, peas, applesauce, pears, rice cereal.

GROCERY SHOPPING WITH STYLE

Grocery shopping with mama has taken on a whole new meaning for Pax. He usually is in his car seat (in the basket) or in the sling (on me)....but yesterday, we tried out his new blanket contraption that goes in the basket. He loved it. He may still be a little young for it...seeing as how he kept tipping to one side, but it sure was fun. I was so amused by him that I couldn't concentrate on my shopping. Oh well.

BOYS, BOYS, BOYS

Here's some recent pics of Paxie with 2 of his best buddies, Durham and Jasper.

MEMPHIS TRIP

Pax had a great time in Memphis a few weeks ago...other than not sleeping much at night. We'll blame that on the mean ole tooth that was breaking through. I've posted some of the pictures to flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rogerselise/

This was the best shot of the weekend...thanks to BB!

EXERSAUCER AND WHAT NOT

Pax is loving the exersaucer...thanks, once again, to Julie and Glen (Riley's parents) and it gives mama one other means of entertaining the baby while she gets ready in the morning.
Don't know if you can see Pax's 'hairdo' in this picture, but he has some little curls that show up just after a bath and in humid weather. And, yes, I'm in complete denial that this baby is getting too big for this car seat :( We go to the doctor on Friday. Can't wait to see how much he weighs!
Check out the baby's new hat. We go on walks so often and we needed one to shade his face more. Here we are about to journey to the library.

KICKING AND FLAPPING

Pax cracks us up. Here he is flapping his arms and kicking his legs.

BATHTIME FUN ONCE AGAIN

THE LATEST

Here are a few highlights from the past few days. Julie, Glen and Riley came over for dinner. Here's a picture of our naked jaybirds, just before putting them to bed. Pretty darn cute!
Since Pax is in the heat of the teething battle, he puts anything and everything in his mouth, including any fingers in his reach. Look out. That little snaggle tooth hurts when he chomps down! I think it's hilarious when he fits the whole rattle head in his mouth.
Well, we turned a corner yesterday...Pax decided that he does LOVE something besides milk. Since he was excited, I got even more excited and I brought out everything that I had tried to introduce this week.....rice cereal, then sweet potatoes, then peas. I didn't try the bananas again. Now I'll try to calm down and go back to 1 food per day...for 3-4 days at a time. It was just too fun to see his excitement and his little bird mouth opening up for it. Here's the aftermath:
