SATURDAY

Pax and I had a fun-filled Saturday. I counted....I loaded or unloaded him in his car seat 12 times. A bit too much time in the car...but fun nonetheless. After nap #1, we paid Papa a visit, then went to play with Riley, came home for nap #2, then went and saw an INCREDIBLE art exhibit, snuck a peak at the ocean, had some dinner and came home. Our new neighbor, Rebecca Campbell (http://www.rebeccacampbell.net), is a CRAZY talented artist. She spent 2 years working on this exhibit and it showed. The tree in the picture below is an avocado tree and is covered in black velvet and has little glass birds (filled with windex) perched on the limbs. She had a few other installation pieces...but mainly paintings, which were absolutely gorgeous.

ONE WEEK DOWN

Well....we're one week in...and we have a new roof (it will be finished on Monday) and a big ole mess. Aaron has completely gutted the bathroom. The picture below shows the shower stall. He has pulled up the entire floor in there and today he begins reframing the shower. It's not exactly a safe place for a toddler, but Pax and I do like to pay Papa visits. He is working so hard.

BOY OH BOY

I'm in love with the boy's (ok..all babies') little sleeping poses. He woke up way to early (5:45 am) this morning, so I fed him some milk then put him back in his bed to look at his favorite book. I found this about 30 minutes later. I had to wake him at 8:30. He so made me late for work.

This wild man figured out how to climb on to this chair tonight...with the help of his truck. I was laughing too hard to say 'no'.

MOVES

Pax and I have been having many a dance party lately. I usually hold him and we dance like crazies all around the living room. It’s good for both of us. I think he’s finally getting some moves of his own.

PLEASE MAMA

When Pax turned one it seemed like he suddenly knew SO much. So many things just started to click for him. One of those is his signing. Here he is saying "please".

LET THE DEMO BEGIN - WEEKEND 1

Here's the house before Aaron got his hands on it.

Over the weekend, Aaron cut down the trees in the front yard on either side of the big window and mowed the grass. He opened up the walls for the laundry room; this affects the kitchen, the hallway and Pax's bedroom closet. He also started gutting the bathroom. Before the plumber and electrician come in , he has to have the bathroom and the laundry room prepped. Roofers are coming on Tuesday.

Pax and I enjoyed our quality time over the weekend but we sure did miss Papa. We took him lunch on Saturday and dinner on Sunday. Our new neighbors took him dinner on Saturday night - a VERY good dinner. How nice! I need ideas for meals that will travel well.
