DRAPES

I got the living room and dining room drapes. They're silk panels. The ones in the living room are orangeish/rustish color and the ones in the dining room are a pewter color. I like. I know...they need to be hung lower and ironed. Will worry about that once the rooms are painted.

THE BATHROOM

Well...it was a monumental weekend. We got the camera back from the shop. We got a tank on the toilet AND we got a door on the bathroom. Thanks to Papa Aaron for the last two items. He's now working on getting the panels up. You can also see the floor tile that he put down, although it still needs to be grouted. Don't know why that toilet picture is crooked.

IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG

I know that you are ITCHING for new updates on the boy and the house. The camera has been in the shop for over a month. I'm about to go crazy without one. Anyhow.

In the 6 weeks prior to moving in, we got central heating and air, new plumbing, new electrical and a new roof. We That was in addition to Aaron's work, which included completely gutting the bathroom, adding a laundry room in the kitchen, replacing a bedroom ceiling and sanding/patching bedrooom walls. By move in day, we had not had a chance to do ANY painting, ANY cleaning or ANY work on the floors.

Major Highlights:
April 30th - we completed the move into our new house
May 1 st - BB (Elise's mom) came to town for a week
May 9th - Nammy (Aaron's mom) came to town for a week

Boy was I happy to have those grandmas arrive and boy was I sad to see them go!

The house was a complete and total mess when we moved in. BB and Nammy cleaned, cooked, took care of Pax, played with Pax....cleaned a lot more...and so much more. It was so incredibly helpful.

Right now, we have a dumpster at the house and are getting rid of the huge demo junk piles that have overtaken our backyard. This will be a huge relief. Last week, Aaron gutted the bathroom and laundry room that were in the garage. He turned this area into storage that will be separate from his workshop (the main part of the garage). I'm excited about all the storage space out there, but I'm MORE excited that it's time for Aaron to come back inside and work more on the bathroom. We have a toilet (with no tank), tile (not yet grouted) on the floor and a bathtub. No sink, no shower, no wall coverings. I am rooting him on to finish this room....quick-like!!!! Then it will be on to painting the bedrooms.

We are so excited about our house and about our neighbors. There are even 2 fellow Memphians on our block.

Pax started his new daycare on may 18th and is doing great. Aaron has been dropping him off and picking him up. On the first day, Pax just marched in there like a big boy to play with his new buddies. There are 5 or 6 kids and all are boys, except one.

Here area few pics from Nammy's visit:

MORE FUN

BYE BYE BATHROOM

Aaron ended up demo'ing every bit of the bathroom, including the shower stall and the floor. The plumbers arrived today to replace all hot/cold water pipes, the drains and the main sewer line. Aaron was there with them all day; he was was impressed with their work. They'll finish in another day or so. We'll have a shiny new roof and all new plumbing. Nice! Next up....the electrician.

HELPER

Pax is such a little helper these days. He loves to bring me my shoes and sunglasses....especially because that means we're going outside. He also brings me the laundry and put trash in the trash can.
