THE LATEST

Here are a few highlights from the past few days. Julie, Glen and Riley came over for dinner. Here's a picture of our naked jaybirds, just before putting them to bed. Pretty darn cute!
Since Pax is in the heat of the teething battle, he puts anything and everything in his mouth, including any fingers in his reach. Look out. That little snaggle tooth hurts when he chomps down! I think it's hilarious when he fits the whole rattle head in his mouth.
Well, we turned a corner yesterday...Pax decided that he does LOVE something besides milk. Since he was excited, I got even more excited and I brought out everything that I had tried to introduce this week.....rice cereal, then sweet potatoes, then peas. I didn't try the bananas again. Now I'll try to calm down and go back to 1 food per day...for 3-4 days at a time. It was just too fun to see his excitement and his little bird mouth opening up for it. Here's the aftermath:

FLOOR HITTING

More new skills. Paxie loves to hit the hard floor. He does seems to favor doing things with his left hand. We'll see

HAPPY HALF YEAR OLD BIRTHDAY, PAX!

We have been anticipating this day for quite some time...July 26th...when Paxie turns 6 months...the time to introduce solids!!

For several weeks, he has been smacking his lips when he sees us eating and he looooves to
drink water from a cup. See...

And he should be ALL the more ready now that he has a little baby tooth with which to chew! That little tooth finally popped through last weekend, while we were visiting BB and Papaw.

Saturday (the actual 6 month day) was just too busy to fit in the feeding. Gotta love the convenience of nursing!! But Sunday came and boy were we excited...Aaron and I, that is. We walked to the farmer's market before church to buy some sweet potatoes. That afternoon, I cooked them, pureed them and prepared the boy for his very first solids.

Wow. How anticlimactic. He couldn't spit them out fast enough. Day 2 was still anticlimactic. I was sure that this boy was going to gobble that food..and even try to eat the spoon. Check him out. We will keep trying. I tried various consistencies/textures and temperatures. I may just have to feed him all of his food from a cup.

FUN IN THE BATH

Tonight in the bath, Pax loved the feel of the water on is hands. It is so much fun watching him discover new things.
We went to Julie and Glen's on Sunday and had a great time....and a delicious dinner. We put the boys in the bath together. Too cute!

WPR - IN ACTION

Here he is, William Pax Rogers...otherwise known as the muffin man, britches, muffin britches, nochle ("nuckle"), paxie, paxie pants, prince, pantsy...and the list goes on.

We spend many hours on the floor...playing, rolling, talking. Here are a few shots from this week. Have I mentioned that I'm madly in love....

And here's the little man holding his bottle. He's getting so good with his hand control. He grabs anything and everything within his baby grasp. We're looking forward to introducing some solids/purees at the end of the month.

JULY 4th WEEKEND

We hung out with our friends Adam and Lucienne (and more of their friends) in Malibu on Saturday. Pax had his 1st swim in a big pool. Here he is...ready to go.

He had fun swimming with Papa, even though the water was a bit cold.
Adam and Elijah and Aaron and Pax. Elijah is 11 weeks younger than Pax.
Here are the babes, just relaxing.
On July 4th, our first party was at our friends, Lea and Ben's home. Pax is ready to go....sporting his adorable outfit from Uncle Brother.
Pax was happy hanging with the pretty girls, Alicia and Lea.
Pax always has his mouth open these days...making some kind of new noise.
